Watch the body language of men of Cavett's age- even when they were younger. They all act like tin wind-up toys. A very up-tight generation. Same for Carson and Allen. Something very forced is going on. Nursing themselves on celebrities hoping for an effect upon themselves. But it is also apparent in today's late night comics. The price of being a sycophant, perhaps. Or a leech.
