Even now, to most or many Americans the above scenario - nay, reality
- seems too incredible to believe. Yet, the bailout is now projecting
out near 5-trillion dollars, not to mention the looming 'margin calls'
on 53-trillion in long term debt - which ain't "supposed" to happen.

Which leaves me hard pressed with regard to our government's ability
to sustain the currency. That's why I posted on the conditions in
Iceland, which is at the bottom of the financial food chain. Still,
their situation is not that different from our own, Iceland is just in
the advanced stages. A precursor.

No long ago the American sign of normality was Johnny Carson; if he
was on, everything was okay. Well, Johnny ain't on no more, and his
sidekick turned into a beggar.
