In case you were hoping that Congress would exert some sort of moderating influence on the adolescent Marxist who will soon be president:
President-elect Barack Obama's call for urgent action on climate change received a double-barreled boost Thursday on Capitol Hill, as Democrats dethroned a leader who had been an obstacle and pledged to move aggressively on energy and the environment. In a victory for environmentalists, Rep. Henry Waxman of Los Angeles ousted John Dingell, the longest-serving member of Congress, as chairman of the House committee that handles all energy, climate change and health care legislation. Though a moonbat, Dingle is from Michigan and consequently has hesitated to impose impossible burdens on the auto industry. Waxman is from La-La Land, and couldn't care less if the burdens he imposes on capitalists are possible. The fact that global warming is not real makes no difference to Henry Waxman. To get an idea of how reasonable the guy is, consider that he helped Code Pink funnel $600,000 to the terrorists fighting our troops in Fallujah. Fatal car crashes must often produce moments like this — instants that seem to stretch on forever as your stomach sinks and you realize that it's really going to happen: your car is really going off the bridge into the icy river far below.
