This is really sick. I feel sorry for anyone so consumed with this nonsense that they would believe any of it. Conspiracy Theories -- the people who believe them feel out of control, and they are looking to tie up all of their anxieties in one neat little ball. But it doesn't work. When things they see don't get connected or when they are shown to be false, they still don't feel assauged; they still look for other strings to fit onto the ball.
1) there's a birth certificate. It's in a vault in Hawaii. Obama has no control over the laws that keep it there. Perhaps the SCOTUS, who will look at Berg's case today, will make a rulilng. Doubtful since he doesn't have standing. MSNBC has a good story on it. A few public officials have been permitted to see it in Hawaii (it's locked up for reasons of privacy, and as I understand it, that's true for every citizen born in Hawaii. The fact that he doesn't have the original is not unusual IMHO) and they verify it is accurate. Democrats would NOT want him to be president if he's not eligible. 2) Socialism -- this is just too tough an issue. Nothing he's done or said points to this. He is much less liberal than I am and his appointments say that. There's no question that we are going to get away from the brand of free-market, unregulated, laissez faire except for the rich capitalism that got us into this mess. Massive government spending is what everyone is telling him is needed to keep our economy from collapsing. We need to get people back to work and the only way to do it is massive infusions of government money. Most people call what he's going to have to do practical. I guess there are still some people around who hate what FDR did, so they would hate what Obama is going to have to do. If the republicans had been kept in line while they were in power, this wouldn;t have to be the solution. I guess that's enough for now. I don't know how to relieve your illness, but I suspect that if you get control over your own life whether you over-eat, over-drink or whatever your addiction, you may not need to spend so much time and effort on these conspiracies. But I don't know you and I don't know exactly what your problems are. I wish you well though, and all happiness in the new year.
