A dangerous combination of bitterly cold air and gusty winds will grip the East today behind the latest winter storm. Another winter storm blasting the Northwest will bring some nasty weather to the Midwest by Tuesday and the East by Christmas Eve Day.
The train of storms from coast to coast continued this weekend with another system slamming the Northwest and another bringing a mix of heavy snow, rain and ice through the Northeast. The storm that moved into the Northeast Saturday night will continue to dump heavy snow and even produce blizzard conditions across parts of Maine early this morning before departing into the Canadian Maritimes. Behind the storm, bitterly cold arctic air will continue spreading in across the rest of the Northeast. The storm dumped heavy snow across portions of Massachusetts early Sunday with numerous reports of downed tree branches and wires as a result. A large pine tree along with wires were reported down on a house in Plymouth County, producing power outages in both Marion and Rochester, Mass. In the wake of the storm, gusty winds are picking up early this morning and could cause more problems in the areas across New England still recovering from the ice storm earlier this month. Some 20,000 customers were still without power on Saturday in New Hampshire after the ice storm that spanned Dec. 11 and 12. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
