There is a certain, simple reality and that is; when things go bad
people react in a negative way. Hence, it's no surprise that both the
President and Congress have miserable 'favorable' ratings.

What I find troubling is the amount of gloating and happiness that is
being expressed here over how poorly our politicians are performing.
It's as if this was a sporting event and it was OK to root for failure
by the other guy. Personally, I find the ratings of Bush and Congress
to be rather depressing because, as I said, people are generally only
that negative when things are going very badly. I can't wait for the
days of high approval ratings for the President and Congress,
regardless of which party is in, as it will likely mean things are
going well for me, the US and the world.

Ah, the joy of hate politics.
