Here is a short history of McCarthy... You will note the Kennedys supported McCarthy and Eisenhower worked behind the camera to destroy McCarthy... The Press only took note MONTHS after Eisenhower became McCarthy's political enemy... The Press did not take the lead, it followed Eisenhower's deeds... But to remember Eisenhower's role and the Democrats role prior to Jan/1953 is to diminish the narrative of the "evil" GOP...
