Would one of the neo-cons here please ask the Republican Party, or it's pundits, how all the Republican's "superior economic theories" of the last 8 years resulted in the lowest job creation in 70 years?
Please feel free to ask Sean Hannity or Bill Orielly... as if you'll get an honest answer. More than likely, you'll get a "blame the democrats" excuse. As though their guy was never in charge. And if that's the case; they shouldn't be anyway. We were told these economic theories would result in *more* jobs as a result of increased re-investment in businesses in the form of tax savings and deregulation. Never mind that savings rates went into negative territory for 4 of those years. We were told; "a poor person has never hired me". Never mind that the rich people weren't hiring you either. Bush Jr. told us that; "home ownership has never been higher than under my administration". In an attempt to validate his economic policies. - you see where that got us. We were told that lowering taxes actually resulted in higher tax inlays for government. Even though that makes almost no sense. We were told that Bush Jr. had a plan to balance the budget. Even though his plan wasn't supposed to take effect until *after* he left office. Much like the Iraq war he didn't want to finish during his term either. I won't even mention the borrowing and doubling of the national debt and how it's a good thing when Republicans are in power...but a bad thing if they aren't. Bush Jr. never had a job he liked finishing. If he were a contractor, you would have sued him long ago. But really, what happened to all the money?
