Lets look at the price of an unforseen accident due to the cold... Perlman plays the Soil (Swah) Stradivarius.... price over 4 Million dollars and his carreer is based on the sound from that very singular instrument. To take it into that weather alone risked his livlihood, let alone playing it. The same is true of the Davidov Cello of Yo Yo Ma, also from Stradivarius..... 2.5 Million dollars Just how much risk do you expect these immigrants to take ?? They bet their very sound and carreers simply by taking the stage in that weather. Oh, and they did play. They just wanted perfection....
