The Republicans had less control of Congress then than the Democrats
have now, yet despite this advantage and the popularity of Obama the
Democrats STILL needed three Republican senators to get the spending
bill thru. Just having the majority doesn't guarantee a thing when
voting goes along party lines.

Democrats would not want THIS video getting out because it's
documenting Republicans speaking of the pending crisis and pushing for
legislation, and it shows Democrats Franks and Schumer claiming the
Republicans were being Chicken Little's and that Fanny and Freddie
were healthy. Of course reining them in at that time would have meant
fewer low income families getting home ownership, and with everyone
being fat, dumb and happy at that time, trying to push thru
legislation that would result in this would have been rather
unpopular. I'm sure blame rests with both parties, but these sound
bites of Schumer and Franks are rather embarrassing to the Democrats
