If one wanted to be technical, the fight was against Totalitarianism
(German, Japanese, and Russian), despite the fact we allied with the
USSR to defeat Germany...  The Post WWII fight was but a continuation
of this ideological fight...   And this is true despite the fact that
a segment of the WWII Allies and their backers (pro-Russian and the
Communist party members and supporters opposed fighting Russia
Totalitarianism (Stalinism)...
