Morpheal’s Commentary - March 9th, 2009 - About Freedoms, Human Nature, Economies and Some Unpleasantly True Enlightenment
CHINA REJECTS MOB RULE “DEMOCRACY”: Chinese legislators have come out against ever adopting western style democracy. No wonder. There is nothing Confucian in western democracy, which routinely lacks respect for the individual, and tends to venerate impulsive irrational fads rather than venerate true struggle for progress and achievements. True democracy is an ideal that does not exist anywhere in the world. It has more in common with anarchism than with existing systems, and both depend on non existent levels of public enlightenment, education and ethical conduct, unknown in this world. In an ideal situation, democratic ideals can achieve their potential, but otherwise they too easily become a form of irrational mob rule, devoid of true reason, extremely wasteful, unscientific, prejudiced, and often violent. LLOYDS BEING DOOMED BY INCREASED UNPRINCIPLED LENDING: If the Lloyds deal boosts lending it will eventually cause Lloyds to fail. Lending in an increasingly unprincipled, still insufficiently governed, ethically bankrupt, system only leads to a short lived spurt of gain, with an even more severe downfall following the routine cyclical pattern existing practices have thoroughly proven. For success to be achieved there needs to be governance over where and how money is used, and that does not exist in the "free market" religion of false beliefs. Every victim of fraud, bunko scams, and other devious and illegal means of obtaining money or whatever else is deemed of value, knows that there are a near to infinite number of people out there who will take whatever they can get, promising the world and even promising to give back more than they took, knowing in their coal black hearts and fecal minds that they will never give back one iota if they can get away with not doing so. Lloyds, and most of the other large lenders, might as well declare complete bankruptcy now, if they are planning to continue giving out money to willing borrowers, regardless of purpose, without real collateral, and without any governance or effective laws as to fair and effective recovery of their investment. BRITS WORRIED ABOUT LITTERING OUT OF TOUCH WITH SOCIAL REALITY: Where society, as in most nations today, is failing to meet the reasonable needs of members, we can expect ever growing trends to "anti social behavior". Society, understood as the cumulative actions of the many and their effects, is far from essentially good. It is more often abusive, oppressive, obstructive, and damaging to the achievement of individual human potential. Society more often seeks to justify that fact by calling it "healthy competition" denying any validity to criticism. GREEN CUSTARD TOSSED AT BRITISH BUSINESS LORD: When leaders are unresponsive and irresponsible we can expect that they will be responded to increasingly irresponsibly. Rational, science fact based, dialogue, leading to concrete response in effective plans and their implementation, has become too difficult to achieve. The argument is always lack of piles of printed pieces of paper. The absurdity of that irrational, dysfunctional, argument leads to all manner of irrational shock tactic responses, but madness surely cannot expect reasoning. Increasingly these are the days of shoes, green custard, and other forms of political disgust and desperation, in the face of a failing and failed democracy which increasingly contends that democratic expression is to be limited to a silent vote for a name on a slate of candidates and that only silence is golden. That threat or abuse is not democracy: that is totalitarianism. If that trend continues to clamp down on freedom of political expression the unfortunate fact is that it will be the anarchists, having lost all respect for the system, not the Bolsheviks, who, this time, will rise to the occasion. That too will inevitably fail, but humans have a propensity for trying out what has not yet been attempted, in the hopes that it might have better results than the hopeless quagmires of failure that “tried and true” systems have proven themselves to be. The error, of course, is a very fundamental one. People are not properly educated for anything other than competing, by any means that they think they can get away with, for whatever they believe is right and that they believe that they want, and all of that is mostly baseless, worthless, belief. PREJUDICES ARE GAINING CONTROL: HUMAN POTENTIAL LOSING OUT: Fact is it does not matter how competent and conscientious workers are. Instead it matters who chances to like or to dislike them. It can be simple as physical type, hobbies, or facial shape, but employment chances and retention are already largely a result of various prejudices on the part of those in power. Management ethics have deteriorated, and bullying, egging victims into reaction, psychological games playing (misinforming, misleading, manipulation, demeaning, and fear mongering), and discriminatory prejudices have become the more usual and expected instead of good management of human resource potential. The common answer to it all is that to have work and to keep what little work there is for as long as there is any, one has to develop “a very thick skin”. So called “independent contractors” and “temps” are hardest hit, as they have no place on the organizational totem pole and no real status in the pecking order. Thus, they have to take it from everyone, and can dish it out to no one, or suffer the consequences of standing up to anything, right or wrong. We must keep in mind that organizations are more typically closed societies unto themselves, and their longer term members tend to act in highly exclusionary ways to those deemed “outsiders” to that local cult. This means that those who are “insiders” act as a secret society, or club, and will rarely, if ever, witness against the organization. ENDING RELIGIOUS OBJECTIONS TO SCIENTIFIC PROGRESS: This week President Obama lifted the ban on stem cell research, overturning an irrational, religious right driven, objection as profoundly flawed as were religious objections to a flat Earth in the center of the solar system. The dark age imposed by George W. Bush and his followers is coming to an end, in what promises to be a new scientific renaissance and enlightenment. Let’s hope that the science of economics can now prevail above irrational clinging to “free markets” and the insane belief that people are “essentially good by nature” and will do “what is right” if given enough “freedom”, along other fatally flawed Bushite “ideals”. Facts are that wherever religions stick their many headed monstrous presence into conflict with secular and scientific progress, all manner of sufferings and ills, including the miseries of every kind of conflict and war become unleashed. That includes the essentially irrational religions of capitalism and communism. Religion was always quick to point at others, and condemn thme for being the many headed beast, foretold in Revelations, but in fact it is religions themselves that are that beast. They simply refused to see the evil in themselves. Science at least has a track record of striving to relieve human misery, when freed from religions and enslavement to the war machine. It is the only remaining hope of humanity. Waiting for Jesus to come back to fix up humanity has not worked out so very well, during the course of 2000 years. After two millennia of immanent second coming, awaiting the provision of salvation, one would think that the people who were kept waiting have had enough and are now ready to call the endless generations of preachers and theologians absolute liars, once and for all time, learning to put baseless and irrational ideas behind themselves, and looking to science for humanity’s only real future. No more “onward Christian soldiers”, but it is time the other contenders for “right” and “truth” turned their swords and battle axes into ploughshares, and other implements of peace, too. “Commie bastards” and “Capitalist running dogs” equally declared guilty along with all their ideological predecessors where religions used to be the one and only big power politics game. Otherwise the species can simply battle each other to the death, and forego any future whatever. Might as well get on with it and not waste any more millennia if you are going to fight it out to get it over with, once and for all eternity. If so then some other smarter species will inherit the cosmos and humans will be another has been fluke of Nature as Nature continues its experiment to see what is and what is not viable in the long term.
