I loved this paragraph from the article:

Mr. Kerry, who has called for Senate hearings on "the future of 
journalism" to begin May 6, also cited the negative influence of 
"agenda-driven reporting" and media conglomerates.

The agenda-driven reporting is a lot of the reason that journalism is in 
trouble and validly so.  All too many of them have lost site of their 
function which is to report the news.  The editorial page is there if 
they want to push their agenda.
