Couldn't very well try them until their status was defined. According
to the Geneva Accords they would have been classed as illegal combatants
and the trial could have been done right away. Instead we saw the media
and the liberals claiming that they were POW's or they were criminals
and should have been tried in civil courts. Until their status was
fully determined neither trial could have been held. In addition the
civilian lawyers who were to defend them kept bringing up point after
point to be determined and that held up the process even longer. All
the while the liberals and the MSM were broadcasting fake stories about
what was going on. Remember the Koran in the latrine? That held it up
even more. Now we hear it was a Bush Admin screwup that damaged
America's pre-eminence. Wonderful! If you throw krep at it some will
stick and that was the damage. Strange how the left was not that
interested in Berg or Daniel Pearl when they got their heads chopped
off. Short weekend story and then mostly forgotten. No problem.
