Clinton kept the country safer than Bush, In fact Bush has created GREATER danger for the US!
May 13, 2009 Sean Lewis Clinton came into office with NO WARNINGS that America was facing imminent attack. As opposed to Bush who campaigned on getting those responsible for bombing the USS Cole and who also received over 60 warning about the 9/11 attack! http://groups.google.com/group/OpenDebateForum/web/9-11-warnings-that-the-bush-administration-ignored?hl=en The attack during Clinton's term occurred during the first month of his Presidency and kept the US safe there after for the next 47 Months of his Presidency.. The attack during Bush's Presidency occurred 8 months into his Presidency and for the next 40 months, except for the ANTHRAX terror attacks Bush kept America 'safe'. Clinton captured and prosecuted those responsible for the Terror Attack. Bush did not capture or prosecuted those responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks. Clinton did not torture to keep America safe or to find those responsible for the terror attack. Bush did torture, but not to keep America safe, but to find a connection between 9/11 and Iraq, and not to find those responsible for the 9/11 attack. Bush chose to invade Iraq in a poorly thought out post operation war of unprovoked aggression that has left Thousands of Americans dead, and 10's of thousands of Americans disabled. The war strengthened Iran and created a reversal of sympathy due to the 9/11 attack in the Arab/Muslim world and diverted attention from the real threat to America, Bin Laden and Al qaeda. Clinton put into motion a plan to neutralize Bin Ladin and protect America, and presented Bush with this plan. Bush ignored this plan, dismantled it, and actually gave Al qaeda and Bin Laden SAFE HAVEN in Pakistan to reorganize and reconstitute and become even more dangerous as the Bombings in Spain and England has shown. For Bush to have kept America safe, he would have actually prevented the 9/11 attack he received over 60 warnings about, he would have not created an atmosphere of hatred created by his unprovoked invasion of Iraq, the torture program that disregarded the law and Bush would have had to capture those responsible for the 9/11 attack. Bush did not leave this country safer than when he became President.
