It is correct what she is saying. A Black American in a large white University will alway be on the edge of the society. He or she will be treated with a distance as if they have to justify why they are there in the University in the first place. Michelle Obama's observations were simply facts and not an attempt to approve or correct matters. I could not read any racism or militant efforts out of what she said. She came into the university and put her nose to the grinding stone and left with honors. I can imagine that she had limited conversations with the white students.
