I don't object to foreign made cars. I have purchased 15 of them in
the last 43 years and had no problems with any of them. The four
American made cars now...two had transmissions that failed, one needed
a new, better suspension system installed after the oil pan kept
getting punctured by hitting rocks on dirt roads and the fourth one
had the steering wheel fall off at 65 mph. I had installed a racing
harness, as this was before shoulder straps, or I would have been
killed. They recalled 250,000 of them after that accident. My
objection is that the government is paying people to buy certain
things. That is not how a free market works. They should offer
people a nickel towards the purchase of my beet juice so I can compete
with the lemonade stand next door.
