Hi Everyone: Just thought I'd introduce myself. My first presidential vote was for Reagan and my most recent was for Obama. I'm proud of both of those votes. I am a Christian family man, business owner and former military (Office of Naval Intelligence). My degree is in Theology. So if it wasn't for the total disregard of the Constitution by Bush / Cheney and the GOP's tolerance and condoning of the abandonment of all the things Reagan stood for, I might still be a Republican. As it is, I'm an Independent. Given the mess he inherited, I think Obama is doing okay so far. I'm not happy about the bailouts or the deficit but I don't believe that anyone could have avoided spending some money, to get us out of the total disaster Bush left behind. I'm impressed by the fact that I've seen improvements in the economy over the last few months. I find Rush Limbaugh to epitomize everything that's wrong with my former party. Complete hypocrite. Party before Country. The belief that he should be able to impose morals upon others, while ignoring them himself. What happened to the GOP I was a member of? I voted for Bush Sr. and thought he was a pretty good president. I thought Clinton was lucky at first but his second term convinced me he was a pretty good president too. I didn't care about Lewinsky and don't care about some Argentine girl either. On the other side, I believe labor unions were out of control for decades and led to job losses a smuch as anything else. I think it is ridiculous that a teacher can be openly gay but not openly Christian (I have nothing against gays, I just don't like prejudice in either direction). I believe in strong military DEFENSE and Intelligence but Iraq was total BS and more importantly, UnConstitutional. I'm big on the Constitution. My in-laws are Persian (Iranian) and I'm both entertained and appalled by some of the ignorance I see from Americans regarding recent events. I don't believe we need Affirmative Action anymore. I think NAFTA was poorly negotiated and screws us. I could go on but I think this lets you know a bit about me. Cheers, Frederick
