Frederick, It definately should be de-criminalized. It most certainly causes less health & social damage than alcohol & tobacco. I'd regulate it and tax it much like booze and cigarettes. The tax revenues would be enormous, although that might be offset by reduced sales of booze. The saving to society in general would be significant.Something like 75% of all the people in prison are there due to minor drug possession violations. Of course much of those are for drugs other than marijuana. Anyway, we such as hell could cut the budgets of the bureau of prisons, DEA, numerous police depts. etc. etc. Which, of course, is mainly why it's doubtful MaryJane will be legalized. When a politician talks about budget cutting and balancing he/she of course is talking about SOMEONE/ANYONE else's budget or department.
