The whole concept of your valid passport being used to rob  you or track 
you or other nefarious activities is what is not good.  The comments to 
the story talk about how those who have these passports with this type 
of chip in it can protect themselves by carrying them in metal sleeves.  
I myself don't mind using a passport to enter a country or check into a 
hotel but beyond that I would prefer that it stay out of sight.
