I was just checking a pro health care site and they cited nearly
$8,000 per year per person is being spent on health care now. I also
checked for personal health care insurance plans and found them to run
from $200 per month for a 60 year old male. So I thought let's make
it $300 for a really nice health care insurance plan. That makes the
cost less than half of what we are spending.
Now, the proposed health care reform plan will only cost $50 billion.
For the 46 million uninsured that would amount to only about $1,000
per person....unless my math is way the hell off. That means the cost
of insuring them is only about $80 per month. Hey this sounds
terrific and it must be sound economically so lets go with it. After
all these are the same people who sold us on Medicare and told us it
would only cost us $12 billion by this time...it costs $412 billion as
of last year. Ooops! A slight miscalculation...won't happen
again. :-)
