MEMPHIS, TN--A Memphis bank teller and her husband are in jail and accused of coordinating two robberies against an elderly couple. The pair got away with more than a half million dollars in cash.
Police say the 82-year-old male victim went to the bank and cashed in $82,000 worth of CD's. When he got home, he was immediately attacked and knocked to the ground. The black suspects took the money and fled the scene. Last week, the same elderly man and his wife were robbed inside their home. Police say a man knocked on the door, asked for someone, and then said he had the wrong address. Minutes later, three men came through a back window, assaulted the elderly man and pointed a gun at his wife. The suspects got away with $420,000 in cash. Memphis police have arrested a husband and wife on robbery charges. Police say bank teller Lakesha Thomas told her husband, Rodricko Thomas, about the victim withdrawing large amounts of cash from the bank where she worked. Police say she also gave him the couple's address and pocketed at least $20,000 to provide the information. Police say Rodricko Thomas was the man who robbed the victim in March, and was also one of the three men who robbed the couple last week. The other two men have not been arrested. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
