[Q] - Quincy School District: Superintendent Lonny Lemon said the
Board Office has fielded numerous calls since 2:30 today. He said he
has had both pro and con calls regarding the president's address.

"This is not a win-win situation," Lemon said. "Some parents are not
going to have a problem with it, but some are going to want the
president to speak when the family can make a decision (regarding the
speech)."

Lemon said he was going to discuss the matter with his building
principals and the School Board before making a decision on if the
Quincy School District will allow teachers to participate in the
speech.

Lemon said at least two of the district's buildings probably will not
be able to carry it because of technical limitations.

E-mails are also circulating throughout the Quincy community regarding
Obama's address to the students.

Some parents have contacted QuincyNews.org to say they will not send
their kids to school next Tuesday if they have no say about their
children taking part in the Obama address. -
