Rodham, an honors student <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honors_student> at Wellesley, received an A grade <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(education)#United_States> on the thesis. The work then went unnoticed until Hillary Rodham Clintonentered the White House as First Lady. Clinton researchers and political opponents sought out the thesis, thinking it contained evidence that Rodham had held strong radical <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_left> or socialist<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist>views. In early 1993, the White House requested that Wellesley not release the thesis to anyone.
