Sage2, What exactly is the problem here? The President IS light skinned because he is a mulatto, which merely means a mixture of African and causasian blood. The President HAD to describe himself as African- American. Had he used an unfamiliar word such as mulatto too many conservative Republicans might have been injured as they rushed to the library to find a dictionary. It was a matter of public safety.
