OBAMA’S TOP TEN LIES! As President Obama wraps up his first year in office, we wanted to have some fun and review the many lies he has told. To come up with his top ten lies, we had to pour over nearly 200 entries! *Please read this post then add your comments and feedback! I left out some very good ones, but these I think are the real doozies! Check in each day for the new list. *President Barack Obama’s Top Ten Lies of 2009.* 1. *Climate Refugees.* - Coming in at number ten is the bizarre September lie that Obama tossed out casually the idea that the world has a terrible problem with “Climate Refugees,” apparently a term he made up moments before his talk. The Dinocrat website caught this one with great humor: “That sinking feeling! From the President’s speech at the UN we learn that “rising sea levels threaten every coastline,” apparently causing islands to shrink and people to flee their homes as climate refugees:(Obama quote) “*On shrinking islands, families are already being forced to flee their homes as climate refugees*.” What islands is Obama talking about? Tuvalu, which has seen a negligible 3cm rise in sea level over the last quarter century? Or perhaps dreary Kivalina, which has indeed been shrinking, though not because of global warming. Apparently sea level increased by an average of 1.8mm a year over the last century. So if you were on an island like Tuvalu, which is 4.5m above sea level, you would be forced to “flee your home as a climate refugee” by the year 3000 or so. Better start running!” — ConservativeAmerican.org says this sounds like a song by the Jonas Brothers: “*You see I’ve been to the year 3000. Not Much has changed but they live underwater!*” 1. *The Big Government Lie!* - President Obama had the audacity to claim he doesn’t like big government! “Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t.” The next day he proposed a budget with the biggest increase in the size of government ever! Also, be sure to Bookmark us and visit ConservativeAmerican.org often! - Almost daily updates to the Obama Administration Scandals List! 1. *ObamaCare Nightmare Won’t Add to Deficit!* - As part of his amazing 21-lie salute on July 22nd, Obama repeated his pledge that his health care plan “won’t add to the deficit. *And I mean it!*” Later he even added his plan is “designed to lower it!” - So what of the Congressional Budget Office’s conclusion that the House bill does add to the deficit? Democrats and the Obama administration argue that the $*245 billion included for doctors* — the approximate 10-year cost of adjusting Medicare reimbursement rates so physicians don’t face big annual pay cuts — does not have to be counted in the overall cost of the health care bill. Their only-in-Washington reasoning is that they already decided to exempt it from congressional “pay-as-you-go” rules that require new programs to be paid for. In other words, it doesn’t have to be paid for because they decided it doesn’t have to be paid for!!!!! UPDATE 9/9/9 - Obama repeats the lie to congress and adds, “These are the facts. Nobody disputes them.” ANOTHER LIE!!! UPDATE 9/30/9: The National Review Online adds “This comment continues Obama’s already long tradition of trying to curtail debate by denying that anyone disagrees with him.” 1. *Never Said He Was in Favor of Single Payer* - In August, President Obama told a bold lie at a carefully staged Town Hall meeting on Health Care: “*I have not said I am in favor of a single payer system*.” — In fact, he has said precisely that! Rush Limbaugh has audio of Obama saying he is in favor of a single payer system both in 2003 and again in 2007. 1. *Stimulus Has No Pork!* - The Republican National Committee notes the following quote from the President: “And less than one month after taking office, we enacted the most sweeping recovery package in history, and we did so without any of the earmarks, pork-barrel projects that are usually accompanying these big — these big bills.” (Transcript: President Obama Delivers Remarks On Economic Recovery At Town Hall Meeting, The Washington Post, 7/29/09) *REALITY*: Pelosi’s Mouse Receives Stimulus Funds. “The tiny mouse that became a hotly disputed symbol of wasteful spending in the congressional debate over the $787 billion economic stimulus bill has returned to pester House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Obama administration quietly announced last week that as much as $16.1 million from the stimulus program is going to save the San Francisco Bay area habitat of, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.” (S.A. Miller, GOP Slams Stimulus Mouse Money, The Washington Times, 7/9/09) 1. *I Don’t Want to Run GM!* President Obama in March: “Let me be clear. The United States government has no interest in running GM. We have no intention of running GM.” While out of the other side of his mouth he *fires the GM CEO* and has his own team *creating a new business plan* for GM. Sounds like running the company to us! He repeated the lie at the end of April. Fox News: “I don’t want to run auto companies…So the sooner we can get out of that business, the better off we’re going to be. We are in unique circumstances.” Again, a huge lie! So he takes over GM (even though the federal government only owned 35%) and fired the CEO, said his team would create the new GM business plan, then *gave away Chrysler* to his democrat pals at the UAW…and at the same time he has the audacity to claim he does not want to run the car makers? 1. *I Had No Idea Lie # 1* - Michelle Malkin reports on what President Obama told ABC*DE*mocrat News today: “STEPHANOPOULOS: How about the funding for ACORN? OBAMA: You know, it’s — frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely. *I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money*…You know, what I know is, is that what I saw on that video was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated. STEPHANOPOULOS: So you’re not committing to — to cut off the federal funding? OBAMA: George, this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.” As Malkin notes, “*It strains credulity — no, it snaps credulity in half — to believe Obama “didn’t even know” that ACORN was “getting a whole lot of federal money*” given his extensive legal services on behalf of the group and training for its voter education arm, Project Vote. (See Links & Sources for the link to Malkin’s June 2008 column, “The ACORN Obama Knows”) MALKIN: Repeat after me: Obama is ACORN. ACORN is Obama. Barack Obama can no more disown ACORN than he could disown his own shadow.” UPDATE 9/27/9: More Proof Obama Lied about ACORN Scandal Obama’s statement, “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money,” is quite interesting considering *he had millions put in his own Economic Stimulus Plan for ACORN!* As we noted (See Other Scandals # 26), Fox News reported back in February that Republican John Boehner had revealed Obama was sneaking money into the Deficit Stimulus Plan for his democrat partisan pals at ACORN for so-called neighborhood “stabilization” (creating more democrat voters makes a neighborhood more “stable” I guess). 1. *I Don’t Blame Republicans.* - The Associated Press and Yahoo! News: “OBAMA: “You haven’t seen me out there blaming the Republicans.” THE FACTS: Obama did so in his opening statement, saying, “I’ve heard that one Republican strategist told his party that even though they may want to compromise, it’s better politics to ‘go for the kill.’ Another Republican senator said that defeating health reform is about ‘breaking’ me.” UPDATE 9/9/9: Obama continues to blame republicans, lying to congress about a “partisan spectacle” going on in the Obamacare debate. He does not need a single republican vote to pass his plan. If there is a problem getting it passed, it is a democrat-only problem!!! UPDATE 9/13/9: Obama said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS’ “60 Minutes. “There are those in the Republican party who think the best thing to do is just to kill reform. That that will be good politics.” — ConservativeAmerican.org’s take: Obama continues to spread the lie (un-checked by most in the media) that republicans are to blame for anything. He knows they are powerless to stop any health reform Obama wants. Obama’s claims simply are false. *AUGUST UPDATE*: The Associated Press: “Obama told his audiences he is trying to reach across the aisle to craft a bipartisan plan, even as he blamed Republicans for delay. He peppered his DNC remarks with jokes and jabs at conservatives that had the partisan crowd breaking into applause and laughter. In response, a spokesman for the No. 2 Republican in the House said he had a question for Obama and his team. “We would love to know when, exactly — time, date, place — the president or his staff reached out to Republican leaders?” said Brad Dayspring, a spokesman for Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va. Republican leaders in May sent Obama a letter outlining the GOP’s principles and asking to collaborate. “And the president’s response?” Dayspring said. “Meeting? Nah. Work together? No thanks. Further discussion? Nope. Instead, they went with, ‘Thanks for the letter.’” - The Associated Press: “Obama told his audiences he is trying to reach across the aisle…even as he blamed Republicans for delay.” Blamed Republicans?! Obama and his socialist-democrats can pass anything they want on any day of the week without a single republican vote. Republicans factually do not have the votes to delay anything Obama wants. It isn’t the republicans delaying ObamaCare, it is Democrats. The blame lies ONLY with them! Meanwhile ABCDEmocrat News quotes Service Employees International Union President Andy Stern on the idea of blaming republicans: “I think if health care reform dies, the Democrat majority in Congress dies with it,” said Andy Stern, the president of the Service Employees International Union. “It’s hard to imagine the Democrats convincing the public that Republicans are to blame for health care reform going down when the Democrats have such large majorities. … After last year’s promise of change, voters will start feeling buyer’s remorse.” Wow! That’s from Obama’s most frequent White House visitor, Andy Stern, an ACORN Board member! 1. *I Had No Idea Lie # 2* - The Obama administration lied, saying the *President was unaware of Tea Parties being held!* Newsbusters reports on the line of bull the White House is sending out to try to deflate Tea Part Protests. From Good Morning America’s Dan Harris: “The White House says the President is unaware of the Tea Parties and will hold his own event today.” And the number one lie of the year from President Barack Obama is….(drumroll)… 1. *I’m No Chicken Little on the Economy!* - This one is *beyond outrageous* and simply makes the President of the United States appear foolish! His Lie this time: “*I’ve never bought into these Malthusian, woe, Chicken Little, the earth is falling. I tend to be pretty optimistic *.” Absolutely unbelievable! This from the guy who said “*economic catastrophe*,” “might not ever recover,” “*unable to reverse*,” “create a negative spiral,” “*Could become dramatically worse*,” “Economic crisis could linger for years,” and on and on!! ConservativeAmerican.org was Leading the way Right on this story. And Obama can’t even get the quote right. It’s not the “earth” is falling, it’s the “sky” is falling!
