Conservative radio host calls it: God to vote Republican!

Right-wing radio host Michael Medved in his new Townhall column

has discovered how God would vote in the upcoming election, and the
answer isn’t surprising. According to Medved, “it’s difficult to
escape the conclusion that the Almighty would cast his all-important
ballot for Republicans.”
But how can he be so sure of how God would vote in November? Well,
Medved argues that progressives’ commitment to social justice cannot
have religious sanction because he says that progressivism, unlike
conservatism, is inherently discriminatory. “Biblical view” (read:
Medved’s personal reading of the Bible) “directly contradicts the
leftist inclination” of “unequal, potentially unfair treatment by
government.” To prop up his point, Medved argues that spiritual and
religious progressives are simply not as knowledgeable as the
clergymen “who focus on Scripture as written” and accordingly “lean
overwhelmingly to the right.”
Medved’s declaration that God would vote Republican and that
conservatives have the best understanding of scripture echoes the
views of other figures on the Right such as Glenn Beck, who called on
parishioners to run away from and report

economic justice are merely “code words

that progressives don’t have God on their side

As right-wing commentators attempt to claim God as a GOP booster,
Pastor Michael Hidalgo of the Denver Community Church reminds us

that “God is not a Nazi or a Communist. Nor is God Democrat or
Republican. In fact, God has no political affiliation.”

rally veiled as theocracy? The rally was a rally specifically for
proponents of God and Country. Participants were asked to leave
political protest signs at home.

Hardly an apology at all, claiming that he was mimicking
the "right wingers' " tactics.....
Maybe some of our more liberal members can back-up
Friedlander's comments, but I don't ever recall any
conservative news organization, publication, or any
conservative at all for that matter, ever offering a
reward for smut tapes in an attempt to, "Destroy" another
individual. Moreover, Friedlander then suggests that he
is, "Back to the drawing board" on ways to destroy Beck,
and other conservatives. Again, another demonstration of
the hate by far left, Marxist Anti-Americans.
Friedlander's allegation that the "right wingers are far
better financed" is once again just an outright lie:

This article doesn't even touch upon the ministrations of
George Soros, al Queda, and other Anti-American
organizations who raise money in an effort to destroy our
Nation.
If the Huffington Post wants to demonstrate any
credibility whatsoever, they will terminate this guy,
today, September 1, 2010.

An Apology to Glenn Beck
Earlier today I posted something on Huffington Post that
was taken down by the staff there. I can accept and
respect their reasons for doing that.
The post was called "$100,000 For Glenn Beck's Sex Tape."
It was supposed to simply make the point that the right
does not hesitate to play rough with the left, and the
right is far better financed. It was glib, but finally
off-kilter and misdirected.
I was actually trying to mimic what I saw as the way right
wingers go about these matters, and by misapprehending the
way they do things, I went too far. (I offered to broker a
deal for anyone who had damaging media pertaining to Glenn
Beck.)
First, I owe Glenn Beck an apology. I crossed the line. On
the off chance something comes in over the
transom...scratch that; I'll delete the email account.
Problem solved.
I meant to tilt at a windmill in the post, and I planted
my lance in the dirt.
A friend commented:
The people on the left who parrot and jerk their knees
are just as much an obstacle to an outcome that
benefits the maximum number of people as the
"sheepies" are.
Well said, Struan. For me, it is back to the drawing board.
