I used to work with a black guy. He moved his family into a "whitish" mixed neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles city. Our school system is controlled by the county. He enrolled his boys in the local school and before the year began he received a notice saying they would be bused to the inner city.
He called the school to ask why and they told him it was for racial balance. His reply was "Are you crazy? Have you LOOKED at my kids?" They were transferred anyway. He ended up putting them into a private school. ________________________________ From: Bruce Majors <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected]; MERLE MCKINZIE <[email protected]>; [email protected]; [email protected]; Michael Kerwin <[email protected]>; [email protected]; TheAnchoress <[email protected]>; [email protected]; [email protected]; John and Beth <[email protected]>; [email protected]; "[email protected]" <[email protected]>; Boudicca Voice <[email protected]>; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Mon, September 20, 2010 2:16:31 PM Subject: Re: Interesting study on school segregation and where it is the worst DC is worse On Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 2:13 PM, dick thompson <[email protected]> wrote: Top four worst performing areas with school segregation are: > >Los Angeles, Boston, NYC, Springfield, Mass. > >You should hear the reasoning behind it and the solutions by the school >systems >- then read the comments to get a totally different picture > > >http://www.boston.com/news/education/k_12/articles/2010/09/20/segregation_report_raps_boston_springfield_schools/ > > -- >Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups. >For options & help see http://groups.google.com/group/PoliticalForum > >* Visit our other community at http://www.PoliticalForum.com/ >* It's active and moderated.
