No, Obama continues to use the tired and often played race card by begging African-Americans to continue voting for his party, despite the fact that unemployment is presently worse under Barack Obama. How has being dedicated to the Democratic Party helped the black community the past 40 + years? RealClearPolitics<http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/10/19/obamas_push_for_african_american_turnout_volunteers_107641.html>reports: *In the latest sign that the Democratic Party is concentrating on its base during the final push before Election Day, the Democratic National Committee announced today a radio ad buy on African American stations that focuses on voter turnout.* According to a DNC release, the spot is part of an advertising effort worth *$3 million in the African American community*. The ad <http://my.democrats.org/DNC_RadioAD_105110>, "Vote," will air primarily in the Midwest, as well as in Florida and Pennsylvania. *It will also air during the radio talk shows of Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey, Michael Baisden, Yolanda Adams, Russ Parr, Bev Smith, Doug Banks, Coco Brother, Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine*, the DNC noted. In the ad, Obama warns listeners not to sit out the election and let the country fall backward as a result. "Two years ago, you voted in record numbers, and we won a victory few dreamed possible," he says in the ad. "I know so many across the country are hurting... and think change isn't happening fast enough." *The DNC called its African American push "its most substantial effort ever in a midterm election to turn out long-time and newer African American voters." The committee noted that the party is also focusing on reaching out to the African American community through faith efforts with both of the Obamas and DNC Chairman Tim Kaine, as well as through small businesses through the Beauty Salon and Barber Shop program.* Beauty Salon and barber shop programs? Imagine if this had been a white Republican who made the assumption that African-American voters could be reached at 'beauty salons' and 'barber shops.' In addition, President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama cut a short, informal video <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aoo9tT19dZA> for the DNC to round up volunteers to assist the party's turnout efforts. "This year's elections are just too important to sit out," Mrs. Obama says in the video. "There's so much at stake right now for our future and for our children's future." Yes, let's throw the children in there to make it better. How has things improved for African-American voters under Obama? Unemployment is higher. Bankruptcies are higher. Foreclosures and higher. Poverty is higher. The use of food stamps are higher. If you enjoy these figures, you should definitely vote for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.
