So you would penalize "The People" for a non-problem?
This is akin to leaving the cookie jar (lid off) on the floor and putting
your 2 year old in time out each time he eats the cookies.
Like so many other things, Representatives/Senators make a career
out of their 'seats' because they are afforded POWER they should not
possess in the first place.
When you toss out R/D1 you get R/D2 from the machines that wield
that POWER. You will succeed only in changing the 'face' of the administers
of the problem.
Look at the recent BLATANT promise to give Social Security recipients a
$250 bonus AFTER the election.
