I agree with Brucie here Nom, I don't know how you get your summation from reading the article that you linked. If anything, Ireland's "austerity" economics is what will save the Nation.
The reason that Ireland is financially troubled, can be blamed on the same thing that happened here, a compassionate socialism that has failed, every where in the world that it has ever been tried or manipulated.
