So yes, I guess they have no one to blame but themselves for failing to adhere to their promises.

As the election draws closer, I am hearing the same old nonsense from conservative Christians: make sure you vote (meaning make sure you vote Republican) and pray for the election (meaning pray that the Republicans win). The Republican Party can once again count on the votes of a majority of conservative Christians. It all seems to come down to three issues: abortion, the war on terror, and the evil Democrats. As long as Republicans say they are pro-life, support endless wars in Muslim countries, and compare themselves to the evil Democrats instead of some worthwhile standard, the majority of conservative Christians take the bait, only to be disappointed yet again when the election is over. -- Laurence Vance
