Once again, those left of center who love to play the "class warfare card", (*See* Studio, Euwe) also love to take things out of context. Cheney said, "You know Paul, Reagan proved that deficits don't matter".
What Cheney was referencing was the "Reagan Tax Cuts" which proved to work and stimulate the American economy, helping to end double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, and double digit unemployment, all caused by the likes of Jimma Carter. Again, those who are left of center hate to acknowledge that the Bush Tax Cuts (of which Cheney was referencing when he made the comment) were also a resounding success, and helped stimulate a once again stagnant economy left over from the Clinton Administration, after those who are left of center had ridden the Reagan-Bush economy for six or seven years, and done everything that they could do to make Americans subserviant to big government.
