Perhaps he helped expand the idea, but he was not the inventor of the term. I posted a long time ago about watching a Japanese sci-fi monster movie from 1956 called Rodan, in which early in the movie one mining office worker is talking to his manager; The manager enters a un-airconditioned office located outside of a mine on a hot day. Manager: "Boy it's hot outside today". Worker: "Maybe it's that global warming all those scientists are talking about"? --- I don't know who invented the term, even a search attributes the term to various people in the 1970's, but it was obviously around well before 1956 and the making of the quoted movie. --- As an aside: I collect movies and own the fore mentioned movie. Trivia: 1. The US voice-overs were done by Keye Luke of Kung-Fu fame, Paul Frees and a very young George Takei of Star Trek fame. 2. All the voices that were dubbed were done by just 4 actors...one of them being a woman. 3. It was the first Japanese monster movie filmed in color. 4. The name Rodan is a modification of the word radon. 5.
