I don't think Sen. Patrick Leahy meant to be truthful on this subject but he pointed out how the state he represents has less strict gun control laws<http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/sen-leahy-gun-control-easy-answer-vermon> which leads to lower crime rates. This is a fact across most of the United States. The states with less gun controls enjoy lower crime rates. States and cities with strict gun control have higher crime rates. Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington, DC have strict gun control laws and the highest crimes rates in the country. Again, this proves that more guns equal less crimes.
