Sir,
The "commerce clause" reads as follows: Article 1, Section 8, paragraph 3
"The Congress shall have Power To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and
among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes". As this begins with
foreign 'Nations' and at the time of the writing of the Constitution the States
were independent and therefore individual 'Nations'. This would mean that the
Congress is authorized to regulate Commerce between State GOVERNMENTS, not
Commerse between people. The Constitution does NOT authorize the Government to
regulate ANYTHING about the INDIVIDUAL people, just the governments.
This view of the Commerse Clause would nullify the current Healthcare Law
that is up for repeal on the floor now.
