Couple bought and lived in a home. The utility company has a contract with a vendor to replace a pipe. The employee of the vendor screws up, the house gets filled with gas and explodes. After a short time the home owner has to pay for the demolition of the home? Why not the utility or the company that caused the problem? Seems like the logical ones to pay for this to me. The homeowner should be totally out of paying for this since they did not cause the problem.
