"He said he'd shoot anyone he could," Lt Bruce Barnett of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office told NBC. The local SWAT-plods naturally quailed at the prospect of tangling with a quite literally balls-out gunman on his home turf, and decided instead to send in one of their droid colleagues for a look-see. As the searing vid above reveals, initially the only opposition faced by the mechanical cop was the suspect's dog, who was basically compliant. However, the badged machine then encountered the tooled-up, unclad homeowner, who showed no hesitation in peppering his robotic adversary with a withering hail of lead. The droid was briefly blinded, but video then cut back in. Riddled with slugs, the courageous tin cop beat a hasty retreat. Reportedly the shot-up droid managed to limp back out of the house despite suffering several bullet holes plus "frayed wires and broken cables". The aggressive naked denizen remained in his dwelling following his victorious encounter with the forces of mechanised public officialdom. Subsequently fleshy cops managed to persuade the unclothed shootist to give himself up without further enpopment of caps in asses – metal or regular-type. Having been cuffed, the nudie gunslinger, unnamed, was charged with criminal mischief. The $65,000 metal policeman reportedly had to be rushed to the manufacturer's workshops for repairs, and will no doubt miss the traditional celebratory round of doughnuts and battery-charging at the station. However, the heroic tin cop is expected to make a full return to duty.
