Whoops, I didn't get to finish that message: Anyone who has read the Federalist, (and Anti-Federalist) Papers, knows what and why the Second Amendment was framed for, and there were three primary reasons, one, was as Mark said above, to keep our own federal government in check and in tow.
Lil'MarxistMoonbatTommyTomTomForNews has recently put forth in other threads, that statistics show that you are apt to be shot or harmed IF you are bearing arms, rather than if you are not bearing arms. I would like to know where such a statistic came from, as I don't believe it.
