Activist Fred Karger has filed a complaint against the National
Organization for Marriage for failing to report a $10,000 donation
from Mitt Romney's presidential campaign to the state of California.

Karger, who is openly gay and running against Romney for the
Republican presidential nomination, filed the complaint Friday with
California’s Fair Political Practices Commission.

The antigay organization received a donation from Romney on October
14, 2008, weeks before California voters approved Proposition 8,
rescinding marriage rights for same-sex couples. The donation was
revealed after NOM's documents were unsealed, thanks to Karger's
separate complaint concerning NOM's campaign against marriage equality
in Maine in 2009.

"Mitt Romney and NOM appear to have gone to a lot of trouble to hide
his contribution," Karger said in a statement. "I am sure that
Romney’s $10K was never meant to never see the light of day."
