The author does some handwaving to evade the fact that the average earth temp trend has been flat for the last 15 years (which the Berkeley Earth data verifies.) Also, he seems to have accepted the alarmist straw man that climate apocalypse skeptics are global warming deniers. In fact, virtually all of us agree that the average earth temperature increased in the late 20th century (just as it did in the 9th century.) No one denies climate change! What people deny is that that massive government power is required to "correct" it, and/or that such changes are any big deal.
