Ironically, CNN never mentions that Obama used an executive order to illegally
close Yucca
Mountain<http://scottystarnes.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/shocker-obama-accused-of-exceeding-his-constitutional-powers-by-closing-yucca-mountain/>,
where nuclear waste is stored. No mention of Obama violating the 1982
Nuclear Waste Policy Act by withholding funding for the Yucca Mountain
site. No mention of the NRC Chief (a Harry Reid goon) withholding
information
i<http://scottystarnes.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/nrc-chief-withheld-information-in-the-hopes-of-shutting-down-yucca-mountain/>n
the hopes of shutting down Yucca Mountain.

Obama's policies have already affected the coal industry and now he's after
nuclear energy.

NEW YORK
(CNNMoney<http://money.cnn.com/2012/08/09/news/economy/nuclear-plants-waste/>)
-- The U.S. government said it will stop issuing permits for new nuclear
power plants and license extensions for existing facilities until it
resolves issues around storing radioactive waste.

The government's main watchdog, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, believes
that current storage plans are safe and achievable. But a federal court
said that the NRC didn't detail what the environmental consequences would
be if the agency is wrong.

"We are now considering all available options for resolving the waste
issue," the five-member NRC said in a ruling earlier this week. "But, in
recognition of our duties under the law, we will not issue [reactor]
licenses until the court's remand is appropriately addressed."

There are 14 reactors awaiting license renewals at the NRC, and an
additional 16 reactors awaitingpermits for new
construction.<http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/09/news/economy/nuclear_reactors/index.htm?iid=EL>

We all know how Obama feels about American energy sources. He wants to
bankrupt them or stop them all together. Remember his illegal drilling
moratorium? How about his commitment to bankrupt the coal industry? How
about his plans to cause energy prices to skyrocket?

Ultimately, it'll be up to lawmakers to find a solution to long-term
nuclear waste
storage<http://money.cnn.com/2011/07/06/news/economy/nuclear_waste/index.htm?iid=EL>,
but their track record on the issue hasn't been good. Nuclear waste
disposal has been a daunting political question that is still unanswered
after decades of study.
