Tea Party vs. the Bush Wing Establishment

The Tea Party is in the process of replacing the Republican Establishment. It will take a few Presidential elections, but it’s happening. The Establishment can see it: Democrat and Republican. There is nothing it can do about this.
Leftist New York Times columnist Frank Rich sees it and explains it from the liberal point of view. If he sees it, then the Republican Establishment feels the heat.
I begin with the Bush wing of the Republican Party, as presented by Bush, Sr. in less than 40 seconds. This video presents all you really need to know.

The Tea Party has undermined this agenda.
Joe Scarborough has listed the Tea Party’s victories.
- They energized a conservative movement battered by eight years of
bloated Republicanism,
- they shocked the political world by taking Ted Kennedy’s seat,
- they put Obama Democrats in a constant defensive crouch,
- they led the resistance against Obamacare,
- they helped bring about the largest legislative landslide in U.S. history in 2010,
- they grabbed six seats in the U.S. Senate that year,
- they helped elect six governors,
- they helped win 700 seats in state legislatures, and
- helped elect a Republican majority that included the largest number of Republicans elected since 1946.
- they shocked the political world by taking Ted Kennedy’s seat,
Hint: the only Republican Congressman to run for President on the Libertarian Party ticket.
Ron Paul.
The Republican Establishment knows that he did it. He voted “no” ever since he was first elected on 1976. He never got a single piece of legislation signed into law. Yet he tossed an ideological grenade into the “smoke-filled rooms” of the national Republican Party. Goldwater didn’t do it. Reagan didn’t do it. Ron Paul did it.
For this, he is despised by the Republican Establishment. Ben Bernanke doesn’t much like him, either.
The Tea Party is now beginning to focus on local politics, where the Republican Establishment has no direct influence. The Establishment does not pay attention to races at the county level or small town level. That’s where the Party is vulnerable.
When Washington’s checks finally start bouncing, the Republican Party will find that it has lost half of the nation’s 3,000 counties to either the Tea Party or the Democrats.
Washington’s money is the heart of the Establishment. When it ends, so does the Establishment.
