Another lie by Scopes. I know we often hear how Snopes lies. I recently became involved in a discussion, and was presented Snopes as un-deniable proof. LOL. I though I would pull all of this together. Well, after about twenty minutes of research, I came up with the conclusion that Snopes was wrong and here's the real story. File this for your use the next time someone says Snopes is reliable. ( it took longer to write this than to do the research ) Recently there was a story about a Crew of Electrical Utilities workers coming up from Decatur Alabama to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. On the way to NJ, they received word that they could not work in NJ, because they were non-union. But there is very little in follow up on the Georgia Crew. The main point is it happen to more than one crew. Notice, they label it "False". Very little is mentioned about Christie involvement. Snopes: Alabama utility crew workers were turned away from helping repair storm- ravaged areas of New Jersey because they were not union members. There's no denying it happen. The Governor investigations shows that. The information was considered bad information, but the crew was told they had to join a union to work in NJ. The story did happen. It also happen to a several other crews, including one from Georgia. The story is TRUE. At the very least, it is true with a misunderstanding. But, Scopes considers the story FALSE, and ignores much of what Gov Christie found in his investigation. It ignores that the crew was giving what was later claimed to be bad information.
