And even more chilling were the comments by those people later. "Yes, it was terrifying to have machine guns pointed at me while I held my children, but I'm so glad the police are doing their job." That was a lowlight of the videos. Another was a reporter characterizing what was being done to these families as "rescue." Once again, I repeat my assertion that this event - this amount of military hardware and house-to-house searches and martial law to capture one kid - is unique, and perhaps even unprecedented. I have yet to see any examples by those who've contested my assertion of a situation that closely parallels this one. Also unprecedented (to my knowledge) is the house to house expulsion of average citizens ***in combination with the screamed threats demanding utter submission***.
