*Happy 15th Birthday Outright Libertarians*
Attention Freedom Lovers:
As you probably know, since 1998 Outright Libertarians has carried the
message of Libertarianism to the queer community, defending against social
intolerance within the party.
THANK YOU for being a part of this amazing journey. We still have a long
way to go:
-
Gender-specific state licensing and bathroom laws make life very
difficult for transgender and gender non-conforming Americans.
-
Blood donor restrictions enforce stigma by excluding us from community
spirit. Remember that national group hug after 9/11? Neither do I.
- Transgender Americans are locked out of military service, while
heroes like Chelsea Manning are tortured.
-
Issues of stigma are routinely used by progressives to gain state power;
we’ve been misled for over 40 years about the true source of liberation.
-
Queer youth and trans-folk suffer disproportionately from laws that
criminalize homelessness, recreational drug use, and consensual sex work.
Then they suffer institutional violence when incarcerated for these
victimless crimes.
What can you do to help? A few things:
1.
Become a "Supporting Member": We’re revamping our memberships to a
"calendar year" cycle. Starting in 2014, your $30

renew each January. And if you join before the end of 2013, we will
apply that donation for the entire new year. Already a member? A
supplemental

really help us grow.
2.
Volunteer to Help: As Libertarian ideas continue to gain popularity, we
are working hard to realize our full potential. After the growth of the
past year, we've never needed you more!! If you are a blogger, graphic
designer, organizer, or activist of any type, let us know!! Our social
media outreach is as important as our state chapters on the ground.
3.
Spread the Word: Our

Our National Convention is taking place in the last week of June, 2014 in
Columbus, OH. Now is the time to get involved with your local party and
begin thinking about travel plans if you want to attend the convention.
This is a primary function of a caucus so we encourage you strongly to
consider this now.
Again we want to thank you for keeping the momentum of liberation moving
forward. We are witnessing a wonderful awakening of the human spirit and
the philosophy of liberty.
