Good Morning, After months of planning, our local fundraiser for my 7-year-old nephew Christian who was recently diagnosed with leukemia, will finally take place tomorrow. I am asking that any and all friends that are in the upstate New York area, please find an opportunity to stop in for a few minutes. For others who are nowhere near this area, I know that many of you work or have contacts in the media industry. I would like to please request that you share the event with your contacts via e-mail, twitter, or a post to Facebook. Please help spread the word with any one of these links: To share the live event information, send this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/459738800808939/?ref_dashboard_filter=calendar To share the online fundraiser that we have had had up and running since we first learned of Christian's sickness, send this link: http://www.gofundme.com/48b4nk Spreading the word itself can do so much to help. We have already seen this with generous anonymous donations to the online site. As for the live event, if you are able to attend here are some details: The event will be held at Bootlegger's on Broadway, located at 200 Broadway in Troy, NY 12180. There will be several bands playing throughout the day, with various businesses donating beer, and some that have donated food which will be served for free. In addition to the entertainment, we have a lot of incredible items up for auction, raffle, etc. There will be numerous autographed items including, a soccer jersey from Red Bulls star Thierry Henry, a football signed by the entire New York Jets team, signed pictures from members of the New York Giants and Chicago Bears, a CD signed by Carrie Underwood, items from the WWE, and so many other local businesses that have donated baskets of goods, gift cards, quilts, tickets, etc. There really are too many items to list individually... There will be different ways to attain these items, and it will be conducted in a manner in which a few bucks may lead to you getting, for example, the Jets football, which has an estimated value of $250. This is a last minute push to share this event and get donations for a family that will struggle to pay the estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars required to provide a three-year treatment plan to their child to fight leukemia. And yes, that number is *after *insurance contributions. The things that Christian has had to endure thus far are heartbreaking, from chemotherapy treatments, to bone marrow aspirations, to blood transfusions. But the heartbreak can be softened if only for a little bit, with an outpouring of support from our community - whether it be the local community, or the online community. Please, if you can, donate. We will be eternally grateful for your kindness. But even if you can't, please take one moment to click a couple of buttons on your computer and spread the word in any way you may know how. A few second of your time could result in somebody who may not have heard otherwise being able to lend a hand. Thanks so much for your time and consideration!
