"What do you mean, something's happened..?" Patrick's voice echoed mildly,
mirroring Kat's self appointed co-guardian's expression and tone. Then he
turned his thoughts toward Kat.. seeking...........
He was confused as to why Kat was here.. that much was
certain. And he could see and feel Julia's reaction to having felt her
here and shared it. But there was something else.......
His form started to solidify like Julia's as he turned his
thoughts around them, seeking.. then he smiled slightly. He hadn't
pinpointed her location yet but he could sense the object.
"You gave her your cross." he said, knowing what it had
meant to the young woman beside him. They hadn't talked to each other, but
when he had visited Kat during Christmas that one year he had sensed her and a
number of stray thoughts.
"There." he said suddenly, looking at a spot that looked,
to the naked eye, empty.
He frowned because that wasn't the only place he sensed
Kat -- but it was her life force and the crucifix he was sensing "Kit Kat?
Why are you here?"
Her form hadn't solidified yet so they couldn't see
her. But now that Patrick had focused on her, Julia was able to better
sense her as well and was even more confused than before. Neither of them
could sense Kat injured or in a physical trauma that would have her where she
was now.
"Patrick?" Julia started to ask him if he knew what was
going on but he was already shaking his head, as perplexed as she
was.
