"Okay," Kat agreed, but she'd
rather say goodnight when her mother was really awake. She looked back at
Nick and Julia, "Tuffy's home all alone and I bet he's pretty scared," she added
thoughtfully. "After I say goodnight to my mom, we should got check on
him."
Nick quickly smiled and then told Kat, "you had better go say goodnight to
your mom while the doctor checks me out and then we can get started to your
house." He saw the expression on Phillips face and knew he had to do
something.
Julia looked at Nick before
the doctor handed her the forms to sign first, then to him. She remembered
seeing the bear - in fact knew just where it was. But she was nervous,
remembering how Kat had felt and was wondering if she should let Philip drive
them in the jeep while she rode in the car with Alex.....
She lowered her gaze and
turned to look at the empty hospital bed before going to go sit on it in an
attempt to, hopefully, look somewhat composed in front of the others and as if
she were just waiting for things to be processed.
Inside she was ready to land
on her side and debate a good cry - well, if the others weren't there to watch
that was.
A part of her wanted to volunteer to go with Kat to say goodnight to
Rachel, but another was scared of seeing the look in Kat's eyes again. In
a way, Julia wished she had had ten more minutes with Mitchell just so she could
hit him again for what he had done to them....
