Nick woke up raising his head slightly up off of the bed. His nose twitched
as he smelled that someone had beat him to the kitchen and was fixing
something to eat already.
He slowly got out of bed as to not wake Kat up because she had gotten in bed
late and he hated to wake her up. He quietly went downstairs taking his time
as to not hurt his ribs smelling what was being cooked in the kitchen.
He got to the doorway and saw that it was Julia cooking so he stood quietly
in the doorway watching her trying not to let her notice him.
She was wearing a set of headphone and with the music turned up at the
volume she had it she hadn't heard Nick.
"Go on.. go on.. leave me breathless.." she sang while moving/half grooving
from skillet to counter and back again, putting the food she was cooking
onto breakfast platters ".... come on..."
"The daylight's fading slowly...the time with you is standing still...I'm
waiting for you only..." good song, she thought as she continued to sing in
tune with it, even flipping the spatula before finish dishing out the bacon
and turning to put the skillet in the sink. She was doing another turn and
swaying back toward the stove when she caught sight of Nick and gave a
little yelp and popped the headphones off of her ears and blushed with
crooked grin.
"Hi." she scratched her head sheepishly, even as Kat came scampering in and
greeting them, carrying Tuffy and looking for all the world like she had had
a full night's sleep, which was good.
